For one of our regular clients in Ghent (BE), we have been commissioned to remove an old and dilapidated storage tank (25m diameter and 12m high). The tank was located in a very difficult to reach location along the water near an operational factory.
After completing the necessary preparatory work, such as drawing up the required HSE plans, TRAS and work discussions, the project could physically start.
The first step of this project was setting up the demolition site, given the very limited space, a lot of time and effort was put into getting a demolition crane in the right position so that the tank could be cut in a safe way. Due to the poor condition of the tank, no people could come close and the entire tanks were demolished by crane. All released materials were loaded into the container available for this purpose and transported to a recognized processor. Bottelier also completed this project within schedule, within budget and with 0 incidents.
